There were 750 cattle offered by live weight and 435 head offered by appraisal in a yarding where supply did not exceed demand.
In the live weight section, prices eased 5¢ to 20¢/kg on most beef-bred young cattle. The very good line-up of yearling heifers were the exception, remaining firm.
Friesian feeder steer prices eased 10¢/kg on reduced support, but price drops were mainly quality related.
The beef-bred weaner steers sold from 290¢ to 340¢/kg, averaging 315¢, easing 20¢/kg. The beef-bred weaner heifers sold from 200¢ to 284¢/kg to average 259¢, easing 5c/kg.
The beef bred yearling steers sold from 240¢ to 308c/kg to average 278¢, down 15¢/kg, with the beef-bred yearling heifers that were of very good quality making from 230c to 296c/kg to average 277c/kg, remaining firm.
Friesian feeder steers sold from 190¢ to 230¢/kg to average 206¢, easing 10¢/kg.
