Boyanup sale report
Just over 880 head of cattle were yarded on Tuesday at Boyanup saleyards, with an increase of newseason vealers recorded.
A large contingent of buyers came to hand, with heavy (350kgplus) steer vealers up 8¢ to 10¢/kg on the previous week’s values, to sell for 312¢ to 318¢/kg.
Vealer heifer prices remained equal to the previous week, with those 280-350kg selling for 265¢ to 290¢/kg and those under 280kg for 195¢ to 270¢/kg.
With the added competition from live exporters operating in the market, beef steers (500-600kg) improved in values of 8¢ to 10¢/kg, to sell for 278¢ to 296¢/kg.
Heavy beef cows also improved slightly, at 2¢ to 3¢/kg, to sell for 182¢ to 207¢/kg, while heavy bulls remaining equal in price to the previous week, selling for 196¢/kg.
