Num­bers were down for a to­tal yard­ing of 20,629 mixed qual­ity sheep at Katan­ning this week.

Ex­tra heavy lambs topped the mar­ket this week at $168/head.

Store cross­bred lambs gained with strong de­mand.

Young ewes gained on the qual­ity lines sell­ing to a top of $123/head.

Mut­ton val­ues lifted with the best heavy mut­ton sell­ing for $143/head.

Light lambs sold to re­stock­ers from $35 to $78 de­pend­ing on size, while air­freight weights made from $70 to $118 for the lighter weights and up to $126/head for the heav­ier weight range.

Light trade weight lambs sold for $119 to $138, while heav­ier trade weights sold to $150/head. Heavy lambs made from $150 to $168/head.

Young Merino ewes sold from $35 for lightweights up to $123 for the heav­i­est to pro­ces­sors to av­er­age $89/head.

Good qual­ity heavy mut­ton over 24kg cwt sold $92 to $143/head.
