Countryman - - NEWS - AAP

Australian farmers are expected to produce about $58 billion worth of goods this financial year, marking a small decline from earlier forecasts.

But the latest prediction from the Federal Government’s agriculture forecaster ABARES for 201819 remains above the 10-year average of $56 billion.

The value of crops produced is expected to drop 7 per cent to $29 billion, while the value of livestock and livestock products is forecast to rise 2 per cent to almost $30 billion.
