Cross Stitcher

OVER TO YOU…

-

We asked our fans on Facebook, “What is your favourite part of stitching a project – before you start, making progress or finishing and framing?”

MELISSA REDDY-TREMBLAY

When you’re stitching a large section that is the same colour over and over again. I love the feeling of finally being done and able to use a new colour.

NIKI GEORGE

I love setting up my floss box with all the colours I’ll be using.

LORRAINE BRENNAN

Sorting the threads, finding the middle of the fabric and making the first stitch, losing track of time as I do ‘just one more row’, the final backstitch, ironing, framing and giving as a gift. So pretty much everything really (apart from French knots!).

DOMINIQUE ADAMOU

It’s great to put the first few stitches on your blank material. The middle part is the most difficult, especially if it is a large project, but seeing the finish line is the best because as we stitchers know, by then we are already planning the next project.

ISABEL FREEMAN

Lacing the clean, pressed, finished item onto the board before framing. Making sure it’s all perfectly straight and even. Sealing it inside the frame is time for a well deserved smile for a job well done.

HEATHER FRANTZ WINGFIELD

I love seeing how the design slowly emerges. I usually only stitch one colour at a time, so there’s always a moment after I finish one of the colours when I look at my canvas and can see the design coming through!

EMILY GRAUPNER

I love how relaxing cross stitch is but when you put the last stitch in it is such a wonderful feeling.
