GRIMMS’ FAIRY TALES SAL

This is the twelfth part of this year’s stitch-a-long design. Over the year we will be bringing you 12 Fairy Tales. In this issue we give you The Frog Princess.

We have greyed out the border from the first part of the design in the February issue. The grid lines are correct for the complete design, but the centre marks indicate the centre of just this motif.

This design was stitched on 14 count aida fabric.

THE KEY

ALL THE symbols that appear on the chart are listed in the key with their corresponding thread codes beside them. The key also tells you the di erent stitches used in the design. The closest column of thread codes listed next to the chart symbols is the thread brand that’s used in the design. Similar colour matches are listed alongside it. Where no close match can be found, you may have to use a di erent brand of thread for that shade.

THE CHART

EACH square on the chart represents a single cross stitch. Start from the centre of the design and your fabric. The centre of our charts are indicated by arrows at the designs’ edges. To find your fabric’s centre, fold it in half and into quarters.

HOW TO JOIN OUR STITCH A LONG

WE’RE UNVEILING a chart from February to January, starting with the border then 12 characters over the year. To join in, you will need to buy a fat quarter; 50x55cm (19½x21½in) of Cream Sampedro aida to complete the design, plus DMC Light E ects Gold E3852and E5200, and one pack of Mill Hill seed beads, colour Gold 557. The design size will be 210 stitches high x 130 stitches wide, with a finished size of 38x24cm (15x9¼in). KEEP US POSTED!
