OVER TO YOU…
We asked our fans on Facebook, “What type of design do you turn to when you are feeling stressed?”
DAWN DREGER
I’ve been working on Long Dog Sampler’s Pandemic for a while now. It’s a massive piece, and monochromatic, so I don’t have to fiddle with changing floss colours. It’s so rewarding to see each motif appear as I work, and the floss and fabric I chose are colours I love working with!
GRACE COLLIER
If I can find a small chart and see immediate results, that will really lift my spirits. Also... finding the perfect piece for my grands!
DEBORAH JULIA WHITE
I like mandalas and patterns. The repetition is meditative, especially if I can incorporate variegated threads.
KRISTA KOVAL DALY
I love my Blackwork Projects. For some reason, I find that this is the most relaxing to stitch.
PEARL LEE
I like to stitch smaller designs. I stitch every day because it’s my go-to hobby whenever I’m stressed out, which is quite a lot, just lately!
SZVETLANA LENGYEL
Small and cute to see the results asap, often they are free kits from CrossStitcher mag!
GAYLE CORTEZ MCKINNEY
Anything Cath Kidston! Her patterns make me smile.
SUZANNE PATTERSON
I’ve got several projects on the go, but find that a monochromatic design helps me to refocus and destress from the others when I feel my concentration wavering and the frustration building.
MELANIE JANE WALLWORK
I like stitching blackwork when I’m feeling anxious. Because the pattern is repetitive, it really helps calm me down.
CAROLINE LORD O’DONOVAN
Christmas Cards, even in January! The bright colours, glittery threads and super cute designs can’t help but raise a smile. The fact that they are quick to finish is a bonus, too. Plus, you can mount them and gift them to friends when Christmas rolls around again.
MANDY LAWLESS
It’s all about colours! Beach colours… blues, greens, teals and sunshine yellow transport me to my happy place.
