Cruise Passenger - - RIVER CRUISING: TRENDS -

This is a big year for river cruis­ing with the launch of eight new ships. Amawa­ter­ways, part­ner of APT in Aus­tralia, will launch the 158-pas­sen­ger AmaLea, a lux­ury ship with twin bal­conies on some suites. It has a heated pool with a swim-up bar and will cruise the Danube from Am­s­ter­dam, Prague and Bu­dapest. Vik­ing River Cruises will launch the 52-guest Vik­ing Ra on Egypt’s River Nile in March. Itin­er­ar­ies on the all-suite ves­sel for 2018 are al­ready sold out. In Asia, Avalon Wa­ter­ways will launch the 36-guest Avalon Saigon to cruise the Mekong be­tween Ho Chi Minh City in Viet­nam and Siem Reap in Cam­bo­dia. Crys­tal Cruises will add two more ves­sels to its Euro­pean river fleet, Crys­tal Ravel and Crys­tal De­bussy.
