Jewel’s green tech

NOR­WE­GIAN Jewel has had tech­nol­ogy in­stalled which is ca­pa­ble of re­duc­ing her emis­sion of sul­fur to air up to 99% and par­tic­u­late emis­sion by 85%.

The new Ex­haust Gas Scrub­ber sys­tem was retro­fit­ted on the ves­sel, a process which took two years and more than 100,000 man hours.

It is the first time a cruise line has retro­fit­ted a ves­sel with the sys­tem while it is in ser­vice.

Nor­we­gian cur­rently has three ships out­fit­ted with Gas Scrub­bers tech­nol­ogy, with Nor­we­gian ewel join­ing Nor­we­gian Es­cape and Pride of Amer­ica.

E Syl­va­nia Travel & Cruise teamed up with Aza­mara Club Cruises last week to hold a client func­tion at the Royal Mo­tor Yacht Club in Port Hack­ing.
