SeaLink plans growth

SEALINK is continuing to review strategic and value-adding acquisitio­ns for the future, chairman Andrew McEvoy said today at the business’ third AGM as a listed company.

“Looking ahead for the remainder of this year and beyond - market conditions for SeaLink remain positive for the year,” McEvoy said.

During the 2016 financial year, SeaLink acquired the Transit System Marine business in Nov 2015 and Captain Cook Cruises WA in Apr ( 03 May).

Jeff Ellison, ceo and managing director earmarked Darwin and Sydney as key areas for new routes and services, confirming two new 60-pax light ferries will be delivered by Christmas to expand the ferry offerings on Sydney Harbour.

The vessels “are targeted for servicing a new market on Sydney Harbour,” Ellison said.

On the 2017 financial year, Ellison said overall it “has started better than expected and ahead of last year, with particular pleasing returns to date from our Sydney, South East Queensland and Murray Princess operations”.
