Debbie diverts ship
CRUISE Lines are closely monitoring sea conditions off Queensland as tropical Cyclone Debbie makes landfall today near the Whitsundays.
Azamara Journey has already diverted from its scheduled route and will miss today’s call at Hamilton Island and tomorrow’s at Townsville, a spokesperson for Azamara Club Cruises confirmed.
Instead, the ship made a surprise visit to the Sunshine Coast port of Mooloolaba where volunteers helped with activities.
P&O Cruises said it was closely monitoring conditions but did not have any ships in the immediate area, nor did other brands from among the World’s Leading Cruise Lines group.
