EV­ERY­THING is go­ing to be dif­fer­ent on the new Vir­gin Voy­ages ships ( CW 02 Nov) - even the ves­sels’ fun­nels.

Su­per yacht de­sign firm Red­man Whitely Dixon has been con­tracted to cre­ate the fun­nel, with ini­tial sketches ( be­low) re­veal­ing what is be­ing de­scribed as a “non-fun­nel”.

“Tra­di­tion­ally the fun­nel has been a bit of an af­ter­thought.. on top of the boat,” said project man­ager Adrian Chis­nell.

The de­sign brief for the Vir­gin fun­nel is to be “lux­u­ri­ous and iconic while be­ing dif­fer­ent, ex­cit­ing and new”.
