MSC celebrates its latest Seaview

-

THE 15th vessel of the MSC Cruises fleet, MSC Seaview, was christened last Sat night in the Italian port of Genoa.

The spectacular ceremony was attended by European TV and music stars, industry VIPs, key travel partners and international media as well as top management from MSC Cruises and its parent company MSC Group.

Long-time MSC Cruises godmother Sophia Loren cut the ribbon to launch the bottle of champagne and name the new ship amid a fireworks display.

The 5,429-pax MSC Seaview is the second of two sister ships in the seaside generation – the first being MSC Seaside which entered service in Dec 2017.

At 323 metres long with a GRT of 154,000 tonnes, the ship was designed for warm-weather sailing and to encourage pax to outside decks & walkways.

Staterooms and suites have elongated balconies offering both light and covered areas, and a 360° promenade with glass balustrades runs around the entire ship.

MSC Seaview will cruise out of six ports in the Western Mediterranean – Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Naples, Messina and Valetta.

The vessel will also sail to South America in Nov for a series of cruises departing Sao Paulo, Brazil, before returning to the Mediterranean in Apr 2019.
