Princess’ local flavour
PRINCESS Cruises has expanded its Across the Ditch Program for the 2018/19 summer cruise season by launching two overland excursions and more than 20 exclusive shore tours on New Zealand’s North Island.
The new product added to the cruise line’s Local Connections initiative harnesses the knowledge and skills of local New Zealand experts across every port in the country.
“It is the local chefs, beverage-makers and artisans who will bring a destination to life in their own unique way,” said Princess Cruises senior vice president Asia Pacific Stuart Allison.
“The expansion of the successful global Local Connections Program in New Zealand demonstrates... how the benefit of cruise tourism can be felt well beyond the ports our ships visit,” he added.
Highlights of the new product include an overland excursion to Great Barrier Island for a stargazing experience and a forest journey near the port of Tauranga to eat traditional bush food with celebrated Maori chef Eru Tutaki.
