CRUISE Lines In­ter­na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion (CLIA), Aus­tralian Cruise As­so­ci­a­tion (ACA) and New Zealand Cruise As­so­ci­a­tion (NZCA) have col­lab­o­rated on the re­gion’s first In­dus­try Sus­tain­abil­ity Guide, show­cas­ing the en­vi­ron­men­tal ini­tia­tives be­ing car­ried out in lo­cal wa­ters.

“Each day across our in­dus­try, in­di­vid­ual cruise lines are work­ing to im­prove... with lead­ing na­tional and in­ter­na­tional or­gan­i­sa­tions, in­vest­ment in new tech­nolo­gies, and com­ply­ing with, and in many cases, ex­ceed­ing int’l stan­dards,” said CLIA Aus­trala­sia Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Joel Katz.

The five ar­eas of fo­cus cited in the re­port in­clude cleaner fuel/lower emis­sions, re­cy­cling, waste man­age­ment, des­ti­na­tion sus­tain­abil­ity, and in­dus­try co­op­er­a­tion. View the guide on­line HERE. MEAN­WHILE CLIA Aus­trala­sia is re­mind­ing mem­ber agents that there are only two weeks left un­til nom­i­na­tions close for the 2018 Cruise In­dus­try Awards.

There are now 11 cat­e­gories open for self and peer nom­i­na­tion in­clud­ing the ad­di­tion of the Cruise Cham­pion and Cruise Pro­mo­tion awards.

The CLIAs take place 23 Feb.
