CMV to the rescue
CRUISE & Maritime Voyages (CMV) offered Vasco da Gama as a possible evacuation vessel for residents and tourists affected by catastrophic bushfires raging on Kangaroo Island over the weekend.
However, the line was informed by government authorities that the ship would not be required, with SeaLink Ferries already on stand by if the situation deteriorates.
The bushfires also caused the cancellation of Vasco da Gama’s call to Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island on Sat, with the ship continuing the rest of her voyage to Port Lincoln with no impact to scheduling.
