A Celebration Of Many Things
Castiglioni brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo designed the Sanluca armchair in 1961. Inspired by the automotive industry, the armchair comprises five main parts (the two armrests, headrest, backrest and seat) that create a distinct sculptural silhouette that still looks fresh today. A limited-edition Sanluca was launched recently as a celebration of the Castiglionis’ 100th birthday and a commemoration of the 50th year of Pier Giacomo’s passing. The limited-edition chair is also a celebration of the brothers’ friendship with legend, the renowned Swiss artist and graphic designer Max Huber. The limitedanother edition chair is upholstered with a special fabric featuring a design abstracted from Huber’s 1968 unpublished drawing titled Geophysical Waves. Poltrona Frau produced only 100 of these limited-edition chairs – 50 chairs in black with a white pattern (pictured) and another 50 in white with a black pattern. In Singapore, Poltrona Frau is available from Proof Living.
