Facing Up To Future Uncertainties
In an attempt to create ‘green infrastructure’ for the city of Bangkok, Chulalongkorn University Centennial Park – realised by LANDPROCESS, with N7A Architects responsible for the design of the multifunctional building – employs an array of water-retention components to fight flooding. These include a green roof, wetlands, detention lawn, retention pond and underground water drainage system. The park reflects the University’s vision of contributing something to society. The aim is that it will last for 100 years.
“I want to crack the city – to create these ‘holes’ that can absorb, store and contain water; or something that helps water to flow instead of retaining it.”
