A pair of well-fitting bib shorts will make a huge difference to your experience, regardless of the type of riding you do. Take your rear seriously because it’s one of the most important contact points on the bike. A little research will reap dividends when it comes to making the right choice.

Shorts are available for all types of riding with some offering a more forgiving ride while others favour those who race. Many higher end models often have a fitted cut, which will work for all, but most of us mere mortals may need to size up.

Some are more forgiving while others, especially high-end models, are aimed at wind-cheating racers who care about aerodynamics. Once again, these will work for all, but consider sizing up for greater comfort. Many brands now also offer specific warm weather jerseys too.
