GEAR GUIDE
1 JERSEY CUT AND FEATURES
Seam location is important to avoid discomfort and small features can make a difference to your ride experience. A wellfitting collar with zip garage avoids irritation while a silicone hem will stop your jersey riding up.
2 JERSEY MATERIAL AND FIT
Summer cycling tops are made from lightweight, breathable fabrics. These stretchy materials are flap-free and designed to be worn fitted. The inclusion of zips and mesh panels help regulate your temperature.
3 JERSEY POCKETS
Storage space is essential, the longer you pedal the more you’ll carry, which usually includes a spare tube and pump, wind/waterproof jacket, nutrition and phone. Easy access pockets are vital, while zip pockets are useful for valuables.
4 BIB SHORTS MATERIAL & FIT
Shorts are constructed from breathable Lycra panels, which are stitched together with flatlock seams for maximum comfort while offering support and freedom of movement. Some use compression material, designed to combat fatigue.

BIB SHORTS PADS Inner chamois pads feature differing thicknesses and densities of padding. They are designed to provide comfort around your sit bones in your riding position and should fit snug to avoid irritation. Some brands now offer different widths of pad.
6 BIB SHORTS SUPPORT
Good shorts will provide muscle support without restriction. The bibs, often using a mesh construction for breathability, help hold everything in place. Legs often use hemless ends, some with silicone to stop them riding up, to reduce restriction and aid blood flow.
