A grand but only Shimano Sora? What gives? Well, a lot of the Trek’s cost has gone into incorporating the brand’s ingenious and effective IsoSpeed elastomer damping into the strikinglooking frame. Along with the Bontrager wheels and 28mm tyres this delivers perhaps the best ride of any £1000 aluminium-framed bike, smoothing out poor surfaces superbly. If Trek could get the cost of this technology down a little this would be a sure-fire five-star winner, and if you value ride quality above the groupset this does come very highlyrecommended.TheDomane looks a million dollars too.
