Liv Langma Pro Disc

-

£2999

While it may fulfill a similar function to its sibling, the Giant TCR, the Langma is not the same bike. Liv believes strongly in women’s specific design, and the Langma has its own distinct geometry based on body dimension data collected from multiple sources.

On the flat and on steady climbs, the lightweight frame combines with good power transfer, aero-shaped tubing on the seat- and down-tube and an ever-reliable Shimano Ultegra groupset to make light work of acceleration and altitude.

However, the Langma’s fly-weight approach to carbon construction has inadvertently added a fair amount of flex to the frame, losing some efficiency when really putting the power down.

The handling is exceptional, but it does require a bit of skill and confidence to push it to its limits, and it often felt a little skittish on descents. A confident rider will get the best out of this bike, and will also get a well-balanced, wellequipped and light bike for a good price.

The Pro Disc is the first model in an otherwise rim-brake heavy line-up to include hydraulic disc brakes, and while the hoods do tend to feel bigger and bulkier for smaller hands, the smooth action adds welcome control to long alpine descents.
