FSA has partnered with power meter maker Power2Max to create this impressive, userfriendly, highvalue chainset. The 30mm BB386 bottom bracket system will fit nearly all bikes and provides a solid and stiff setup underfoot. Cadence is calculated without a magnet and it records overall power not just on one leg. It recalibrates itself automatically whenever you freewheel, which means accuracy is constantly within 2 per cent, whatever the weather. The simple rubber battery cap works better than it looks and battery life is long at 400plus hours. It is ANT+ compatible as standard but can be upgraded to run with Bluetooth Smart too (for a cost), which also unlocks left/right power balance, pedal smoothness and torque data. If the hefty 923g weight is an issue there are Powerbox Carbon options for £1149.95.
