FTP Functional Threshold Power – the highest wattage you can hold for an hour (normally worked out as 95 per cent of your sustained 20min max).

Normalised power

Overall workout measurement based on the range of wattage within the ride to produce a more accurate idea of workload than a simple wattage average.

Intensity factor

Normalised power divided by FTP to give an idea of how hard you worked. TSS Training Stress Score – a calculation based on normalised power, intensity factor and riding time to give an idea of how ‘heavy’ a session has been. TTL Total Training Load – a cumulative calculation based on daily, weekly and monthly TSS scores.

Variability Index

Normalised power divided by average power to show how variable (higher number) or steady (number nearer 1.0) the power levels were on a ride.
