Pirelli’s emergence into road tyres has been a long time coming, but it’s been worth the wait. The rubber compound in the 4-S is supple and sticky offering excellent grip. The volume of these 28s is generous, but the real winning point is just how quickly they roll, which Pirelli claims is down to a SmartNet Silica compound and the slick centre of the tyre. The 4-S is a fat, fast, floaty tyre with bags of grip.
