Half measures
This summer I started the 227km Ötztaler Radmarathon in Austria. It’s little known here, but a big deal in Germanic cycling. I didn’t finish as it was way harder than I expected… Writer Marcus Leach also tackled an epic Austrian event this year. On page 96 you can find out if he got further than half way!
World leader
I must admit Nick Sanders isn’t a cycling ‘name’ I’d ever heard of. To writer Trevor Ward, though, he’s a hero. Why? In the early 1980s Sanders became the first man to set the Guinness round-the-world record. On page 122 Trevor heads to Snowdonia to meet Nick and persuades him to get back on his bike!
