Shouldering the burden

One staff member who hasn’t been able to ride as much as he’d like recently is features editor John Whitney. He damaged his shoulder in a crash two years ago, and has struggled ever since. That’s led him to investigate the most common injury cyclists suffer in search for a cure to his pain.

Ordnance Survey Explorer map 440 could be forgiven for feeling unloved – it’s the worst-selling bit of cartography the OS produces. To boost its self-esteem we sent Trevor Ward to ride around its grid references. He found that its relative unpopularity meant its Highland roads were undiscovered gems!
