As a true test to this jacket, I took it out on a six-hour long ride in the rain and yet not a drop penetrated. Impressive? Oh yes.
Endura put its Pro SL through its paces in Scotland so this lightweight, highly breathable waterproof is ready for all that winter can throw its way. It was used by Team Movistar when Endura worked with it during the 2019 season.
It fits true to size and neat design features, such as stretchy panels, allow for extra layers if needed.
The Exoshell 40 waterproof fabric uses a three-layer construction with a thin fluorine-free membrane offering a waterproof rating of 20,000mm.
Breathability is equally important and Endura offers a value of 40,000g/ m /24hr. Once again performance was impressive, easily wicking sweat away.
Endura has done everything possible to keep you dry including taping all the seams, and there’s a neat tall-collar set-up with added storm-flap extension. This sits comfortably, offering neck coverage.
Sleeve length is perfect and Endura uses thin stretchy fabric around half of the wrist. This allows thin gloves to be tucked under or bigger gloves to be pulled over.
The reverse-style front zip with storm flaps inside keeps the elements out, and the rubber extension on the small zip-pull certainly makes life easier.
The drop tail sits in place, keeping your rear dry. Like the Assos jacket, there aren’t any rear pockets, rather a flapped zip allows access to jersey pockets. There’s also an external side nutrition pocket with drainage holes.
This is one high-performing jacket that has the rain shedding and breathable qualities of something more expensive.
