THREADED BB

All four bikes here have threaded bottom brackets, also called BSA or BS Threaded. These are 1.37in x 24 TPI and have 68mm shell widths, with the BB screwing in.

TUBELESS-READY

The Boardman and Triban have rims that work with standard tyres but are also tubelessready, which means you can run them without inner tubes provided you use dedicated tubeless tyres, rim tape, valves and a tyre sealant. Tubeless tyres can be run at lower pressures and virtually eliminate pinch punctures.

DISC BRAKES

Disc brakes use a small rotor (disc) mounted to the hub. Calipers clamp the brake pads onto the rotor, and these systems can be mechanical – cable actuated – or hydraulic, for maximum power and control.
