Starting at a tenner, arm sleeves can be a cost-effective way of reaping aero benefits and you can wear them for added warmth (or UV protection). But key is fit and wearing them properly. With the Sundried Arm Warmers (£22) placed over the jersey’s arms (above), the sleeves added 5secs to our aero profile. Yet, with the techy Santini sleeves peeled over the arm sleeves, that became a positive aero gain, leaving us with a 5sec overall reduction. Our previous tunnel visits have revealed far greater gains, suggesting material type is also crucial here.
