A useful addition to the Duo Fixer System

of very lightweight guards (56g total) that are compatible with the Topeak Duo Fixer system (the Duo Fixer is included). Once in place, this system means you can instantly mount guards, lights, a saddlebag and other accessories in the range and build a system around it.

Click on, click off

The Duo Fixer attaches easily to your saddle rails using two Allen-key bolts. It’s quickly done and once in place the guard just clicks into position, making it simple to either add or remove depending on conditions. There are upper and lower slots and the accessory the guard is paired with determines the position. Using the light? Slot the transparent guard into the lower position. Carry a saddlebag? The black guard goes in the upper position. You can’t swap the guards between upper and lower slots, though – each is designed for its specific use. The guards are available separately (£10.99) as well though, so for example we’d probably opt for the transparent guard and pair it with the excellent compatible rear light – the Taillux 25, which costs £34.99.

Spray saver

Essentially this is a saddle spoiler that keeps your backside clean and dry. It does that job very effectively, and it’s solid and well made. If you’re out all day in the wet, however, you’ll need more. The Duo Fixer system is versatile and works well for quick and easy attachment of the range of accessories. We probably wouldn’t buy it just for the guard, but if you’re buying into the system, then the guard’s a great addition.
