BMW VISION M NEXT SHOWS FUTURE OF M

BMW hasn't forgotten the car enthusiast

-

BMW has shown off their latest glimpse into the future with the BMW Vision M Next. Powered by a 441kW (600hp) plug-in hybrid system and a design inspired by the legendary E25 Turbo (M1 precursor) and i8 hybrid, it gives hope to the car enthusiast that the future isn’t always going to be fully autonomous.

With BMW’s refreshed focus on Autonomous driving, Connectivity, Electrification, and Services (ACES), the concept has two main driving modes - EASE and BOOST. EASE sees the car driving itself - perfect for the daily work commute. BOOST gives control back to the driver and adapts the driving environment to minimise distractions. In this mode, as the car gets faster it centres relevant information to the drivers eye-line.

Anodised titanium, woven synthetic fibre debuts on the Vision M Next alongside recycled carbon fibre like we’ve seen on the i3 and i8 hybrid.

BMW doesn’t plan on selling the Vision M Next. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if this could be a sneaky look at what an i8 replacement could be in the near future.
