Belkin has expanded their already wide range of BOOST UP CHARGE accessories, designed to take advantage of the wireless charging capabilities found in the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus or newer. Belkin was kind enough to send us the new wireless charging vent mount, perfectly suiting older cars that might not have a large centre infotainment screen or wireless charging. Supporting the Qi wireless charging standard, support isn’t just limited to Apple devices. We were able to use a Huawei P30 Pro, in addition to an Apple iPhone 8 Plus with no problems.

Depending on the device, the wireless charging vent can provide up to 10watts, making it a faster charger than even some desktop wireless charging pads. The extra charging power is perfect for when using navigation apps on your phone, as keeping the screen on and using GPS takes a lot of power!

The mount is easy to install with a 1.1m power cable, and fits devices easily with a display up to 5.5inches. The mounting pins on the back will fit most vehicles and will let you move between portrait and landscape mode with ease. We would have preferred the power adapter to be USB with a 12-volt power adapter, providing a little more flexibility for those who also have a dashcam installed.
