Fork as­sault

A MAN has used a large fork to steal cash and to­bacco from a su­per­mar­ket on Bridge Rd. Sergeant Nigel Dal­ton said that just be­fore 3am on Thurs­day, a man threat­ened a store as­sis­tant with the kitchen uten­sil. “The man threat­ened the worker at the cash reg­is­ter, no per­son was phys­i­cally in­jured in this in­ci­dent,” he said. Sergeant Dal­ton said the man had made off with money and to­bacco.

Po­lice have re­cov­ered the fork used in the in­ci­dent. “Po­lice are re­quest­ing any­one who may have wit­nessed this in­ci­dent or were near the junc­tion with Bridge Rd and Nebo Rd in Mackay to con­tact them,” Sgt Dal­ton said.

The of­fender is de­scribed as tall with dark hair and beard, ap­prox­i­mately 25-30 years old. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is urged to con­tact Po­liceLink on 131444.
