GET out your lights and start planning a design for your jolly Christmas palace because it’s that time of year again.

This December, the Christmas lights competition will be hosted by 1 Property Centre.

Owner Mark Vadasz said that the event was something a lot of people enjoyed.

“It’s something people like and I wanted to keep the tradition going,” he said.

Nathan Berting of 1 Property Centre is a Christmas lights aficionado himself.

“I know when I used to do my big display it was always under surveillance,” Mr Berting said.

“I would always see people out the front, like children dancing.”

“We think it will be really well received,” Mr Berting said. “We’re hoping that there will be a lot more, given the increased prize money.”

To enter, contestants are required to self-nominate, either at the office, or via the Facebook page.

Unlike past events where voting involved a lot of driving, voters are able to submit their verdict via the Facebook page in response to the photos submitted by entrants.

There are three cash prizes: first, second and third, each ranging from $200 to $500.

1 Property Centre will also be throwing a party at the end of the competition to announce the winners.

HARK: Nathan Berting and Mark Vadasz at 1 Property Centre are happy to host the Dalby Christmas Lights competition this year.
