Bowlers old and new play in good spirit
THE Dalby Bowls Club Mercantile Challenge wrapped up on Wednesday, November 7.
Sixteen teams played in the four-week contest with a mix of new and veteran players.
Committee member and event organiser Keith Teakle said the new players had a good time.
“The four weeks were very successful for the club and all played in good spirit,” Mr Teakle said.
The team from Wild River Concrete took out first place in the mercantile challenge, with Crackerjack coming in second place and Grubbs winning third place overall.
Brent Winter, from the Wild River team, said the competition was a good opportunity to meet new people.
“It was a good night out and well worth doing,” Mr Winter said.
The Dalby Bowls Club’s next big day is the Cancer Council fundraiser on Sunday, November 18.
Teams can be nominated for the Cancer Council Day by calling Dalby Bowls Club on 4662 2243.
