Cleaning fairies bag tidy haul at awards

Dalby Herald - - NEWS -

STAFF at Dalby’s own Town and Country Cleaning were awarded across three categories in the 2018 Building Service Contractors Association of Australia Excellence Awards.

The awards were just reward for what owner Scott MacDougall said was hard work and dedication.

Christine Phillips made a splash in the Queenslandwide division, named runner-up for Long Service, a category open to those who have been in the industry for more than 10 years.

Tina Draney took first place in the Frontline Employee category in the regional Queensland division, which recognises an individual’s outstanding professional success.

Catherine DeVries, Bebe Antoza and Sandra Radke were declared winners in the Most Valuable Team category in the regional Queensland division.

“Most of their work is out of hours,” Mr MacDougall said.

“So nobody really knows. People just come to work and think the fairies have been because the place is clean. They get very little recognition.”

Ms Draney said winning the awards was a shock.

“We didn’t know anything about it,” she said.

“It’s nice to be recognised.”
