Jamie & The Nonnas

Wednesday, win, 7.30pm

Dalby Herald - - LIFE -

Forget flashy TV chefs, the true masters of cooking are Italian nonnas. And Jamie Oliver knows that only too well – Italy was the place that first inspired him to cook. Oliver takes a trip back to rediscover the foodie country’s delicious dishes and ingredients, and he takes along his former boss and mentor Genaro Contaldo. The pair might be considered big deals in the cooking world, but they have a lot to learn from the nonnas, who don’t hold back. Tonight, he is in the southern region of Basilicata, in search of some seriously old-school Italian recipes, with the help of a family of shepherds and an 89-year-old macaroni master.
