Skin health is not just skin deep, talk to the expert

Dalby Herald - - ADVERTISING FEATURE -

WITH winter making its way in, many people may be struggling with changes in their skin.

Rather than stressing over what products to use, why not speak to a professional who cannot only help you fight the winter blues but can help you discover your best skin all year round.

Natalie Jackson, owner and skin therapist at Holistic Skin + Body, said skin was her passion.

“I had bad skin as a teenager so that started my journey in skincare, just wanting to help my own skin,” Natalie said.

“Now it’s my passion to help other people feel good in their own skin because I know how it can affect people’s confidence.”

Holistic Skin + Body offer a half-hour skin consultation for $50, with that amount redeemable on product after the consultation.

“This allows me to spend a good amount of time with the client to find out what the underlying causes might be for their skin concerns,” Natalie said.

“Quite often it’s not just an external cause, it’s more than likely internal as well.”

With 25 years of experience in skincare, working in salons, spas and skin therapy education, Natalie knows what she looks for in skin care products and Dermalogica ticks all the boxes for her.

“I first came across Dermalogica 15 years ago while working in skin therapy education.

“Dermalogica evolved from an education company, that developed a skincare line, so education is at the forefront of everything they do.

“The research that goes into their ingredient formulations and product development is second to none, which is why I feel confident recommending their products to my clients.

Visiting a qualified skin therapist is always the best way to find out exactly what your skin needs to be the best it can be but, in the meantime, Natalie has a couple of tips for you to consider as the weather cools down.

“The primary function of skin is protection.

“The combination of cooler temperatures, lower humidity and hotter showers all combine to pull critical moisture from our skin which can lead to an impaired barrier.

“Hydrating the skin during winter is essential to maintain the protective barrier of the skin and layering your hydrating products is the best way to do that.

“Also, just because the sun doesn’t have the same intensity, doesn’t mean it won’t cause damage so don’t forget the SPF!”
