The humble bento box recently got a luxurious upgrade at Kisumé in Melbourne. Chris Lucas’ Japanese restaurant on Flinders Lane now offers elevated lunchtime versions, including tenderloin with foie gras (right) and misomarina­ted salmon. At Sydney’s Kid Kyoto, diners can order their ‘Punk Drunk’ bento with kingfish ceviche, chicken meatballs and deep-fried carrots.
