The humble bento box recently got a luxurious upgrade at Kisumé in Melbourne. Chris Lucas’ Japanese restaurant on Flinders Lane now offers elevated lunchtime versions, including tenderloin with foie gras (right) and misomarinated salmon. At Sydney’s Kid Kyoto, diners can order their ‘Punk Drunk’ bento with kingfish ceviche, chicken meatballs and deep-fried carrots.
