The match was set up beautifully by Blighty with a nine goal first quarter, with the highlight being the way the young Redeyes shared the football with each other.

In a much anticipated Murray League round 13 clash, the Rams fourths took on the undefeated Cobram, going down to the ladder leader by 28 points.

For three quarters the young Rams stuck with the Tigers, with only four points the difference going into the final term at Scott Oval.

But in the end the stronger Cobram bodies ran in a few easy goals for the home side.

The Rams’ backline welcomed back Tom Bradley from injury and he had a great day, assisted by Luke Todd who switched to defence and marked strongly

Onballers Charlie Hillier and Tom McCallum battled hard all day, running, tackling and farming the ball out from contest to contest.

Luke Learmonth and Darcy McManus marked strongly, Miller Fitzpatrick, Marcus Moorse and Noah Bradley controlled their positions, and backs Brodie Park, Harry Dudley, Logan Leiper and Lugaidh JenningsGallagher battled hard all game for the Rams.

A strong first half from the visitors saw them hold a two goal lead at the main break, but it was the home side coming home strongly, kicking 5.1 to 1.3 in the second half to end the Rams’ dominant run.

Onballer Will Shaw was Deni’s best, with good support from Jake McManus and Ryan MacDonald.

The Deni Rovers fourths made light work of another challenger in the Picola & District League, with a 120 point win over fourth placed Picola United on Saturday.

After a few weeks off the Rovers thirds had a fantastic 31 point win over Picola.

The Roos started well but were a bit rusty and unable to capitalise when going forward.

Bailey Townsend started the game well, providing plenty of run and carry from the backline and Rusty Milward stopped everything that came his way.

In the second half the Rovers took control of general play but a few quick goals to the home side kept them within reach.

A stellar third quarter from Hayden Gardiner, Ben East and a miracle goal from Brandon Armstrong gave the visitors plenty of momentum to finish the game strong.

Brock Thomson was again outstanding at centre half forward and Anthony Zielke dominated the ruck to round out the best players.
