Drink driving charge
A 31 year-old Deniliquin man has had his driver’s licence suspended after being charged with alleged drink driving.
Police said they initially tried to stop a car being driven in Hardinge St, Deniliquin about 2.35am Saturday for the purpose of a road side breath test.
They followed the car to west Deniliquin and it finally stopped.
The driver was subjected to a roadside test which police allege was positive, with a blood alcohol reading of 0.120 later recorded at Deniliquin Police Station.
Police said as the man had a P1 licence (red Ps) his legal blood alcohol limit is zero.
The driver was charged with midrange prescribed content of alcohol and his licence was suspended pending an appearance at Deniliquin Court.
