Man breaches bail, curfew
A 45 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with breaking bail conditions, allegedly failing to abide with a curfew.
Police said the man was arrested on outstanding warrants earlier this month and given strict conditional bail before a court appearance on November 6.
Police said one of the conditions was a curfew to remain at his own home between 8pm and 8am, and to present himself to police if they called by.
Police said they went to the home twice in one hour at the weekend — at 11.40pm Saturday and 12.20am Sunday. Both times they say another occupant told them he was not there. The man was eventually found hiding in the bedroom of another home.
A 24 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with breaching bail conditions and possession of a prohibited drug after being searched in a traffic stop on Sunday morning.
Police said the man was subject to strict bail conditions imposed by the court on October 2, which prohibited him from associating with certain people and visiting certain homes.
Police said they saw the man at one of the prohibited residences about 10.40am Sunday, and allege he left the home in a car with a person who he was prohibited from associating with.
Police stopped the car a short time later to charge the man with breaching bail. In a subsequent search, police allege to have found a small amount of cannabis in the man’s sock.
