YEAR 9 GIRLS EMPOWERMENT DAY
At the end of last term, the Year 9 girls participated in an empowerment day. The aim of the day was to not only empower the girls but to teach them some new skills, encourage team work and unity, while also having a lot of fun.
The day started with a past student Lucy Howard (nee Beehag) sharing
girls. We are so lucky to live in a town where we have community members willing to give up their time to enrich days like this!
After some yummy morning tea we then had a few hours of fun, smiles and laughter with the SheKan girls. Shez and Kell are fabulous. The girls learnt about personality types and dealing with others while participating in a team challenge. They also enlightened us with an activity that emphasized how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us.

Last, but not least, Georgia Van Lieshout a past DHS school captain who is now studying dietetics at university spoke to us about a healthy balanced lifestyle and we got to get our hands dirty making bliss balls – a healthy snack that we can now make when we need one.
