The Deni Di­a­monds had an­other good win against Nu­murkah Blues in Goul­burn Val­ley Croquet As­so­ci­a­tion play Thurs­day last week.

This time it was a close re­sult with the Di­a­monds edg­ing in front six games 68 hoops to six games 66 hoops.

Nine­teen play­ers en­joyed the beau­ti­ful af­ter­noon on Sun­day for croquet.

Three play­ers won their games with John James win­ning the day scor­ing 27 hoops, while Andy Davis and Al­lan Tonta had 22.

Six play­ers won their two games with good scores de­spite los­ing one game. Heather Dou­glas had 23, Me­gan Tonta, John Tainsh and Dot Mur­phy all scored 22 and Marg Telford and Brad Fawns both had 21.

Al­lan Tonta, Brad Fawns, John Tainsh, Andy Davis and John James all had suc­cess­ful jump shots.

Dors Peter­son won shot of the day. She had a great shot from the side at a good dis­tance from the hoop.

There were two op­po­si­tion balls sit­ting in front of the hoop and Dors’ ball went straight through both and scored the hoop.

The ‘in club’ pen­nant went well with the Sap­phires at last gain­ing a win over the Emer­alds.

On Wednes­day morn­ing 14 play­ers took part in croquet. There were two three-game win­ners with Dors Peter­son and Dot Mur­phy hav­ing an equal score of 23 hoops.

Five play­ers won their two games with good scores. Jill Tainsh and John James both had 24, Lor­raine Honey­man and John Tainsh each had 22 and Brad Fawns scored 20.

The list for the Christ­mas lun­cheon is on the no­tice­board so please add your name and your part­ner’s if you would like to go.

It will be held at the Long Pad­dock and they will pro­vide a free bus to go from the croquet courts.

It is on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 16 with a three course meal at $30 per head with the club sub­si­dis­ing the bal­ance.

Pre­sen­ta­tions will be made at the lun­cheon so it’s hoped there will be a good num­ber of play­ers and part­ners.
