Twi­light ten­nis re­sults:

Tweak­ing of some player po­si­tions and teams af­ter the first round pro­duced some more even re­sults in round two of De­niliquin Lawn Ten­nis Club’s twi­light com­pe­ti­tion on Wednes­day.

In con­di­tions of bet­ter light and by start­ing sets on time, all matches were com­plete in just over two hours.

Le­gal Ea­gles played Ags­pares in a match that saw plenty of ac­tion and a very close re­sult by the end of play.

The match was drawn nine sets each and the game count was Ags­pares 93 and Le­gal Ea­gles 91.

The los­ing team had three three-set win­ners with Mirelda Wales Donna Leetham and Tony Kew all try­ing to lift their team, while the win­ning team had no three­set win­ners.

The men for Ags­pares were the stronger mem­bers of the team on the evening, hold­ing their own four sets as well as win­ning the spin and mixed sets five sets to three.

In the ladies, Le­gal Ea­gles were su­pe­rior win­ning four of the six sets.

In the other match, Mitre 10 were strong win­ners over Pep­pin Plan­ners 14 sets to eight.

Mitre 10 had five play­ers win­ning their three sets with Jon Gat­acre, An­thony Michael, Will Bull, Lourene Lieben­berg and Vicki Arentz not drop­ping a set.

Rob Brown played a lone hand win­ning three sets for Pep­pin Plan­ners.

The Satur­day af­ter­noon com­pe­ti­tion kicks off to­mor­row. Play will com­mence at 2pm.
