Doctor’s farewell

Deniliquin Pastoral Times - - Out & About -

For Dr Shahzad Ahmed, leaving Deniliquin is ‘‘bitter sweet’’.

He said goodbye to work colleagues on Friday when about 40 people gathered at the Deniliquin Hospital for a breakfast. He will go to Melbourne with his family. ‘‘I’m sad to leave all the people I have worked with here during my time in Deniliquin. They have been absolutely amazing and it’s safe to say that without their service the town would collapse very easily,’’ Dr Ahmed said.

‘‘But I’m very happy and looking forward to furthering my career in Melbourne where I will be training to specialise in skin work.’’

Dr Ahmed thanked all staff at the hospital and fellow doctors at local medical clinics for their help and guidance.
