Hil­lier hat-trick hands Rhi­nos out­right win

A hat-trick from Charlie Hil­lier helped the Deni Rhi­nos Un­der 14s cruise to an out­right vic­tory against Berrigan/Jer­ilderie Com­bine at Me­mo­rial Park on Satur­day.

Hil­lier con­tin­ued his dom­i­nance from day one of the clash, which saw him claim 2/6 off three overs and score 45 runs be­fore re­tir­ing, with a stir­ring per­for­mance with the ball on day two.

The young-gun fin­ished the sec­ond in­nings with fig­ures of 4/1 off two overs to claim a to­tal of six wick­ets over the two in­nings.

Con­tin­u­ing on from a dom­i­nant day one, re­sum­ing from 4/107 af­ter 17 overs, the Rhi­nos bat­ted for nine overs with Charlie Pa­ton (20 not out) and Dom Rogers (15) help­ing Deni push their score out to 155 be­fore send­ing the vis­i­tors back out to bat again.

With a full side in for day two, Berrigan/Jer­ilderie showed more re­sis­tance in the sec­ond in­nings.

Af­ter 20 overs how­ever the vis­i­tors were all out for 49 runs, see­ing the Rhi­nos home by 79 runs.

Lach­lan Hol­loway also had a strong show­ing with the ball for the Rhi­nos, fin­ish­ing with fig­ures of 3/7 off three.

The Rhi­nos will have their first game away from home for the sea­son when they travel to take on Tocumwal on Satur­day.
