Hillier hat-trick hands Rhinos outright win
A hat-trick from Charlie Hillier helped the Deni Rhinos Under 14s cruise to an outright victory against Berrigan/Jerilderie Combine at Memorial Park on Saturday.
Hillier continued his dominance from day one of the clash, which saw him claim 2/6 off three overs and score 45 runs before retiring, with a stirring performance with the ball on day two.
The young-gun finished the second innings with figures of 4/1 off two overs to claim a total of six wickets over the two innings.
Continuing on from a dominant day one, resuming from 4/107 after 17 overs, the Rhinos batted for nine overs with Charlie Paton (20 not out) and Dom Rogers (15) helping Deni push their score out to 155 before sending the visitors back out to bat again.
With a full side in for day two, Berrigan/Jerilderie showed more resistance in the second innings.
After 20 overs however the visitors were all out for 49 runs, seeing the Rhinos home by 79 runs.
Lachlan Holloway also had a strong showing with the ball for the Rhinos, finishing with figures of 3/7 off three.
The Rhinos will have their first game away from home for the season when they travel to take on Tocumwal on Saturday.
