Strong swim­ming re­warded

De­niliquin Swim­ming Club re­cently held the pre­sen­ta­tion of Aus­tralian Ju­nior Ex­cel­lence Pro­gram (JX) awards for the 2017-18 sea­son.

JX recog­nises, re­wards and en­cour­ages ju­nior swim­mers who, through their de­vel­op­ment of aquatic skills and fit­ness, achieve a high stan­dard of swim­ming ex­cel­lence.

Swim­mers aged from nine to 16 years who ac­com­plish times set by Swim­ming Aus­tralia qual­ify at Gold, Sil­ver, Bronze or Green stan­dard, de­pend­ing on their best per­for­mances dur­ing the sea­son.

Award win­ners from De­niliquin were as fol­lows: Elena Mul­ham (Gold), Chloe Brown (Sil­ver), Kate West­cott, Isla Ho (Bronze), Abbey Wills, Os­car Thomp­son, Paige Brown and Matilda Whit­tak­ers (Green).

The club’s Christ­mas time trial and a bar­be­cue was also held on the night.

Train­ing for the sea­son will be held on Mon­day, Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day nights from 4pm, with the club host­ing a swim­ming car­ni­val on Satur­day, Jan­uary 19.
