Finding the right direction

Deniliquin Pastoral Times - - NEWS -

‘‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.’’ Proverbs 3:5-6.

I’ve a been a driver for 17 years and every time I go into a new place, I’m bit nervous that I may not reach my destination safe and sound.

I am very grateful to the discovery of the global positioning system (GPS).

Driving is easier than before, but I need to follow the instruction of the voice in my GPS.

I think the voice in my GPS is too powerful that I cannot do anything but to trust and follow her, otherwise I will lose my direction. Life is like you are driving your car. You have the control of everything, but you need the GPS to be able to reach your destination safe and sound.

You don’t need to do anything, but to trust and follow the instruction of the voice in your GPS.

As we begin this year, perhaps we need to ask ourselves as a point of reflection, when was the last time you felt like being lost?

What happened? What made you lost? What’s your response when feeling lost? Did you look for the right direction?

I remember the famous quotes of Frederick Buechner, ‘‘The place where God calls you is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet’’.

I think some people intend to be lost, while some others don’t want to be guided by others, they think they can do it by themselves.

Imagine how many people lost their way in world now. Are you one of them? Let us turn to God as our personal GPS. He will lead us in the right direction, but we need to trust him, follow his voice and he will make our path straight.
